A notorious dacoit was killed by the firing of his colleagues during an encounter with Crime Control Department (CCD) personnel in Zafarwal. According to details, after receiving credible information that some dacoits were looting pedestrians on Darma Road Chohali, a CCD team rushed to the spot. After taking notice of the police party, the accused started firing at them.

 During heavy exchange of firing, a police van was partially damaged but all the policemen who were on board the van remained safe mysteriously. All the accused escaped from the scene but one dacoit namely Sikandar, a resident of Boghpur Shakargarh was killed by the firing of his colleagues. The police wanted Sikandar in more than 48 cases. Soon after the incident, heavy contingent of police reached the site and shifted the dead body of the dacoit to Zafarwal.
