January 28, 2026

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, Pak-China Mineral Cooperation Forum was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on 28 January 2026. With the theme“Our Shared Prosperity Empowered By Minerals”, the forum aimed to promote the in-depth integration of mineral industry chains in both countries. Representatives from the Chinese and Pakistani governments, as well as mineral experts and enterprises, gathered to explore new opportunities for mineral cooperation between China and Pakistan, marking the beginning of a new era of economic collaboration.

During the opening ceremony, MCC Tongsin Resources Limited officially launched the “Pak-China E-Mining Platform”, marking a new milestone in the digitalisation and intellectualisation of China-Pakistan mineral cooperation. Focusing on cross-border e-commerce and supply chain collaboration, the platform integrates material supply, logistics and transportation, information consulting, and mineral product trading. It strives to build an efficient and credible digital trade ecosystem for the mineral industry.

Guided by the Belt and Road Initiative and closely aligned with the construction goals of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the platform innovates bilateral trade models and enhances industrial chain resilience through digitalisation. Representatives of the Pakistani government, mineral enterprises, and Chinese-funded enterprises all stated that the platform will greatly improve the operational efficiency of Pakistan's mineral industry, reduce cross-border trade costs, and stimulate the upgrading of local industries and employment growth.

Participants and corporate representatives praised the platform’s forward-looking layout and practical features, noting that it has upgraded China-Pakistan mining cooperation from a traditional resource development model to a fully digitalised, value-chain approach. Enterprises from both countries expressed a strong desire to collaborate on site and are looking forward to expanding their cooperation via the platform, with the aim of jointly writing a new chapter in bilateral collaboration in the digital economy era.

Looking ahead, the Pak-China E-Mining Platform will continue to deepen localised operations, refine its warehousing and logistics network, and promote greater integration across the industrial chain. It will provide solid support for Pakistan’s industrialisation and sustainable development, helping to ensure that China-Pakistan friendship and cooperation continue to thrive in the digital age.
