In view of the fact that floodwaters from Punjab will enter Sindh in the next few days, the Pakistan Army and Sindh Rangers personnel are on their toes. The army contingents are deployed in different parts of Sindh, which are likely to be affected by floods, along with necessary food and other items, while the Rangers personnel, besides providing security to the Irrigation Department employees, are also patrolling the protective embankments.
The people living in the katcha areas of the province are being evacuated. The army, in collaboration with the civil administration, has also set up free medical camps. All these steps have been appreciated by the local population.
