On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan has dispatched additional humanitarian aid to Gaza. A plan has been set to send 200 tons of relief goods through two special flights. The 17th consignment, comprising 100 tons of aid, was dispatched via a special flight from Islamabad International Airport. An additional 100 tons of relief goods would be sent in the coming days. The 17th consignment includes 65 tons of ready-to-eat food, 20 tons of powdered milk for children, 5 tons of biscuits, and 10 tons of medicines.
So far, the total weight of aid sent through 17 consignments amounts to 1,715 tons. With the second flight scheduled in the next few days, the total weight will reach 1,815 tons. The dispatch ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik as guests of honour. Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NDMA, and representatives of the Al-Khidmat Foundation were also present.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the efforts of NDMA, Al-Khidmat Foundation, and other welfare organizations for ensuring the prompt dispatch of aid and expressed gratitude. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to standing with the people of Palestine in these challenging times and making every possible effort to meet their needs.
