Pakistan Kissan Ittehad announced they would start a protest demonstration from January 5 till acceptance of their demands. Addressing a press conference in Lahore Press Club, Pakistan, Kissan Ittehad President Khalid Mehmood Khokhar said everything about farmers is in Pakistan, and the assets of those who decide about them are in foreign countries. Khalid Mehmood Khokar said, “We only planted wheat this time out of fear of God.”

He said that a sack that used to fetch Rs8,000 to 10,000 in the market is now fetching Rs1,500. Khalid Khokhar said that a farmer spent money on fertiliser, seeds, and trees after selling his valuables only for the sake of food security. The farmer doesn't even get respect in return for all this. It was repeatedly said that the Kisan card was given, but the Kisan card is a loan. A cabbage, kinnow, and sugarcane farmer is crying nowadays.
