Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan is preparing to return to the global bond market after a gap of four years. Talking to the global magazine Bloomberg, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, he said the government will start the process of appointing international advisors for bond issuance in the next few weeks.
The Finance Minister said Pakistan is also preparing to issue panda bonds in Chinese currency for the first time to provide direct access to global investors, especially the Chinese market. Muhammad Aurangzeb said inflation, which once reached about forty percent, is now in single digits. He also highlighted that global rating agencies Moody's, S&P and Fitch have upgraded Pakistan's credit rating, reflecting improving economic stability.
