At the United Nations, Pakistan has urged India to end its state terrorism and abide by its obligations under international law, including implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir. The statement was given by Counsellor Gul Qaiser Sarwani in response to the remarks of Indian delegate at the UNSC open debate on "The United Nations Organization: Looking into the Future".
He said Jammu and Kashmir remains the bleeding wound of South Asia and no amount of sophistry can alter the truth that it is an internationally recognized disputed territory. He said it is India that took the matter to the UN Security Council and pledged to abide by a UN-supervised plebiscite. And it is India that has backtracked on every commitment, choosing instead to deploy nine lac troops to subjugate an entire people.
This is the densest military occupation of our time. Counsellor Gul Qaiser Sarwani said the catalogue of crimes in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is horrifying: mass graves, enforced disappearances, custodial killings, sexual violence, demographic engineering and total media blackouts. He said the fascist ideology of Hindutva has turned India into the world's largest factory of hate.
