Pakistan's Ambassador to Indonesia presses UN to resolve Kashmir dispute Breaking

August 06, 2025

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, has urged the international community to push for the full implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions to resolve the Kashmir dispute. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri made this statement during the commemoration of Youm-e-Istehsal at the Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta on Tuesday. "The House demanded the immediate implementation of all relevant UN Security Council resolutions, which call for a free and impartial plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir," Chaudhri said.

Chaudhri described the Jammu and Kashmir conflict as involving three critical aspects: international law, peace and security, and human rights. He argued that India’s move to strip the territory of its special status was aimed at consolidating its unlawful occupation. "The resolution affirmed that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is not an internal matter of India but a global issue requiring a just resolution in accordance with UNSC resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people," he emphasized. He reiterated that resolving the conflict peacefully, in line with UN mandates, is essential for lasting peace.
