June 25, 2025

Chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad said on Wednesday that peace was essential for national progress and it could only be ensured by setting aside differences. He was addressing an ulema meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here. Religious scholars stressed the need for harmony and promotion of moral values ahead of the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

Maulana Azad urged religious scholars to cooperate with the district administration in fostering unity and establishing peace in line with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He called on ulema to deliver messages of unity from their respective platforms and to remain vigilant in their surroundings, ensuring that no suspicious individuals entered their gatherings. Earlier, Maulana Azad met local ulema and officials of the district administration as part of his special visit to the area.

Later, he presided over a meeting of religious scholars along with Deputy Commissioner Qurat-ul-Aain Memon and District Police Officer Rizwan Ahmed.  Those present at the meeting included Chairman Ulema and Mashaikh Peace Committee Maulana Abdul Mabud Azad, Abdul Ghani Saqib, Mufti Yaar Muhammad Saeedi, Syed Abdul Sabir, Mian Ajmal, and others.
