Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday underscored Pakistan’s active diplomatic outreach for global peace, as he met Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party here along with a delegation. During the meeting, the prime minister briefed Bilawal Bhutto on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts in light of the evolving situation in the Gulf, emphasizing Islamabad’s commitment to promoting stability, dialogue, and conflict resolution on the international stage, a Prime Minister's Office news release said.

PM Sharif highlighted that Pakistan is actively engaged in addressing emerging regional challenges through a balanced strategy that integrates foreign policy, internal security preparedness, and economic resilience. He stressed that safeguarding national interests while contributing to global peace remained a key priority of his government. The two leaders also exchanged views on political developments and issues of national importance.

Discussions included Pakistan’s internal and external security environment, and preparedness to tackle potential challenges arising from escalating tensions in the Gulf region. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari commended the prime minister’s leadership and policy direction, particularly in navigating the country through a complex and uncertain regional environment. He expressed support for the Federal government’s approach to dealing with potential risks stemming from the conflict scenario.

The meeting also reviewed ongoing federal development projects in Sindh, reflecting continued coordination between the federal government and provincial leadership on economic and infrastructure priorities. Senior officials present at the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and other key cabinet members and advisers.
