Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday held a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, marking their first formal interaction since the chief minister assumed office. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Chief Minister Sohail Afridi upon his arrival at the PM House.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah and Federal Minister Engineer Ameer Muqam were also present during the meeting. According to sources, the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained the central focus of the discussions, with particular emphasis on the ongoing threat of terrorism in the province. The KP chief minister was expected to brief the prime minister on security challenges and operational requirements faced by provincial authorities. 

Sources said the meeting also reviewed the ongoing security operation in the Tirah Valley and discussed the evacuation and welfare of local residents affected by the operation. The meeting had been scheduled earlier in the day and comes after reports that the chief minister had previously declined to visit the Prime Minister’s House.
