Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bukhari congratulated the PML-N leadership and workers on the victory of PML-N candidate Muneer Iqbal Channar in the Bahawalpur by-election. In a statement, Azma Bukhari said the people of Bahawalpur had once again expressed their trust in the PML-N. She said Muneer Iqbal Channar’s victory by 39,000 votes was an acknowledgment of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s performance. 

The Punjab information minister said that after the 2024 general elections, the PML-N, under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, had won all by-elections in Punjab by large margins, adding that the people of Punjab were happy and satisfied with her performance. Azma Bukhari said the people of Punjab were voting for public welfare projects, including electric buses, laptops, scholarships, green tractors and the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme.

She added that the public was also expressing confidence in Maryam Nawaz’s government over electric bikes, electric vehicles, Suthra Punjab and measures to beautify cities. She said examples of development, service and good governance were being set in Punjab, and Maryam Nawaz’s style of governance had become an example for other provinces. The Punjab information minister said some people still considered chaos and violence to be real politics, adding that the people of Pakistan were fed up with the politics of groups and rioters.
