Police arrests accused involved in attack on MPA in DherkiBreaking

Police, after a hectic search operation of three days, arrested two accused who were involved in an attack on Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sindh Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar. Special Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dherki said that a search operation was conducted under the supervision of DSP Obaro Abdul Qadir Soomro in the Khenjo and Barota area. An APC van, armoured vehicles, and a heavy contingent of police participated in the search operation.

Both arrested accused were later identified as Atal Sher and Mohammad Nawaz. SSP further revealed the search operation is still underway to apprehend the remaining culprits. Earlier in March 2025, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MPA Jam Mehtab Hussain Dharki survived a firing attack near Khenjo, Dharki. According to Jam Mehtab Hussain Dharki, unidentified assailants opened fire on his convoy, injuring three to four people.

"Our vehicles were targeted, and several individuals sustained injuries. The police have been called to the scene," he stated. DSP Obaro Abdul Qadir Soomro confirmed the incident, saying that heavy police contingents from Obaro, Dharki, and Khenjo have been deployed in the area. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack, and security has been tightened in the region.
