The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has postponed its scheduled examinations due to the ongoing flood situation across the province. The decision was taken in view of widespread disruption and difficulties faced by candidates travelling from different regions.
According to PPSC spokesperson Deputy Director Syed Kazim Muqaddas Kazmi, the decision was reached in a meeting chaired by PPSC Chairman Lieutenant General (r) Muhammad Abdul Aziz. The meeting was attended by PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmad, Member Examination Mirza Sohail Amir, and In-charge Examinations Rana Rahat Amin.
The spokesperson stated that new examination dates will be announced later, with candidates being informed through SMS, email, and official website updates. The postponed examinations were originally scheduled for 30 and 31 August. These included tests for 434 vacancies, attracting more than 8,000 applicants.
Among the key positions affected is the recruitment for Inspector Legal (Specialist Cadre) in Punjab Police, along with several other posts. Kazmi emphasised that the floods have significantly disrupted travel for candidates across Punjab. The Commission considered these challenges before deciding to postpone the tests.
The move aims to ensure fairness and accessibility for all applicants once conditions improve. The PPSC confirmed that fresh dates will only be finalised after reviewing the evolving flood situation. Until then, candidates are advised to monitor official channels for updates regarding the rescheduled examinations.
