Deputy Commissioner of Sargodha Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry said that practical steps are being taken to improve public hospitals, upgrade infrastructure, and provide modern medical facilities so that citizens can access better healthcare at their doorstep. During his visit to Tehsil Head Quarters (THQ) Hospital Chak no 90-South on Tuesday, he reviewed the condition of the facility, particularly a portion of the building that has been declared unsafe.
The Chief Executive Officer, Health Dr Saira Safdar and Executive Engineer (Buildings) accompanied him. The DC conducted a detailed inspection of the deteriorating structure and directed the concerned officials to initiate immediate revamping and repair work on a priority basis to ensure the safety of patients and hospital staff.
Officials informed that an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 160 million has been proposed for the revamping project. He stated that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, providing quality and safe healthcare services to the public remains a top priority for the government.
He further added that efforts are being made to strengthen the healthcare system by ensuring cleanliness in hospitals, the availability of medicines, and the regular attendance of medical staff. The Deputy Commissioner directed the relevant authorities to closely monitor ongoing development works and report any issues promptly.
