A meeting of the District Steering Committee, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Salim Akram, was held to review preparations for the upcoming Measles-Rubella (MR) Campaign 2025, scheduled to be conducted from November 17 to 29, 2025 across the district. During the briefing, District Health Officer (DHO) Abbottabad informed that 52 fixed teams, 153 outreach teams, and 4 mobile teams have been constituted to provide vaccination services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
In addition to existing EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization) centers, temporary vaccination points will also be set up in areas lacking EPI facilities to ensure maximum coverage. The Deputy Commissioner directed all relevant departments to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign for parents and the general public, emphasizing the importance of timely vaccination to protect children from preventable diseases.
He stressed that coordination among all departments is crucial for the success of the drive and instructed officials to ensure that no child is left unvaccinated during the campaign. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Additional Assistant Commissioners, District Health Officer, Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital, Health Coordinators, Assistant Director Local Government, and other concerned officers.
