President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid glowing tributes to the valor and audacity of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider on his fifty-fourth martyrdom anniversary.  In their separate statements, they said the bravery and historic sacrifice of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed in the battlefield will always remain a beacon of light for the nation and future generations. 

The President, in his message, said Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed is a shining symbol of bravery, sacrifice and unwavering loyalty to the country. He said, despite being seriously injured on the Wagah Border in the 1971 War, Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed stood firm against the enemy. President Asif Ali Zardari said the sacrifice of Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed is a testament of the professionalism, dedication and national spirit of Armed Forces of Pakistan. 

In his statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the sons of the soil like Mehfooz Shaheed are the guarantee of the invincible defence of the motherland. He said Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed, by confronting the enemy's advance in the Wagah-Attari sector in 1971 with historic and exemplary courage, immortalized the defence of the motherland in history. 

The Prime Minister said Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed, with his courage, boldness and bravery, proved that the entire nation is an iron wall for the defence of the motherland. Shehbaz Sharif said, despite being injured by the cowardly enemy, Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed created history by confronting the enemy on the battlefield. 

The Prime Minister said the entire nation is proud of all the brave martyrs, including Muhammad Mehfooz Shaheed, who sacrificed their precious lives for the defence of the motherland.
