Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered crackdown on charging more than the prescribed fare on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.CM Maryam Nawaz directed to take strict legal action against overcharging during Eid. Chief Minister ordered to take necessary steps to ensure implementation of the prescribed fares in all districts. She also ordered to strictly monitor the collection of excess fares and ticket black. Maryam Nawaz directed to prominently display fare receipts at all bus stands.
She further directed to arrange iftar for fasting passengers. Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to clean all bus stands. She also directed to ensure proper seating arrangements and presence of fans at bus stands.She directed the Transport Department and other concerned authorities to carry out continuous checking duty in the field to provide relief to the public.
Maryam Nawaz said exploitation of poor passengers returning home on the occasion of Eid will not be allowed. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said fares should be displayed prominently at every bus stand and implementation should be ensured. Maryam Nawaz also directed to closely monitor the movement of anti-social elements in bazaars and markets.
