Punjab government has banned all sports, assemblies and outdoor activities in schools during smog season.The Punjab government has issued instructions to all schools for the protection of students during the smog season.  Schools have been instructed to run awareness campaigns on the use of masks and precautionary measures. Reports of awareness activities have also been directed to be shared on social media.

Government also instructed to keep classrooms clean and ventilated during smog.Schools strictly prohibited from burning garbage and proper disposal made mandatory. Schools were also directed to maintain emergency health records of students with asthma and heart disease. District Education Authorities ordered to monitor Air Quality Index (AQI) daily.  Schools were also directed to submit weekly reports to the education department.
