The Punjab government will help 30,000 Information Technology (IT) graduates under Chief Minister Internship Programme.According to authorities, Punjab government will provide stipend of Rs50,000 per student for internship and Rs30 billion will be spent for the five-year programme. Selected interns will be given a stipend of Rs50,000 per month for four months.
Private IT companies will be given a monthly subsidy of Rs12,500 per candidate.The internship programme will be supervised by the Punjab Information Technology Board. A central internship portal will be created for the recruitment and onboarding of candidates.A plan to provide globally recognized IT certifications to interns is also included in the project.
