In the ongoing crackdown against illegal foreigners, more than 35,000 illegal Afghan nationals have been deported by the Punjab police so far. A spokesman of the Punjab police said that 183 illegal foreigners are present at the holding points. Those who are deported include 13,728 males, 7,048 females, 14,366 children, and 10898 people who have no valid legal documents.
As many as 11,131 Afghan Citizen Card holders who were illegally residing in Pakistan were also deported. Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Karim directed all law-enforcement agencies to ensure the deportation of illegal foreigners across Punjab. He said that, as per international laws, there is no room for illegal foreigners in the province.
