Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have unveiled plans for the establishment of the Punjab Kisan Bank to transform agriculture sector across the province. This remarkable initiative aims to provide easy access to loans for farmers, heralding a new era of financial support and empowerment in the agricultural sector. The announcement came during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where the duo also discussed the comprehensive Kisan Package. Not stopping there, the agenda included a meticulous review of plans for solarizing tubewells and implementing drip irrigation systems, underscoring the government's commitment to sustainable farming practices. Among the highlights of the historic package are the "CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme" and the promotion of oilseed cultivation.
Rejecting a paltry subsidy proposal, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed for substantial subsidies of 70% on small tractors and 50% on larger models, ensuring that farmers have access to modern agricultural machinery at affordable rates. With the guidance of Mian Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme is set to expand exponentially, with an increased allocation of 10,000 tractors. The Chief Minister's directive to complete the first phase within a year demonstrates a sense of urgency in delivering tangible benefits to farmers. Furthermore, the approval of a high-tech mechanization program, coupled with incentives for foreign companies to manufacture agricultural equipment locally, underscores Punjab's commitment to innovation and progress in the agricultural sector. In a testament to their dedication, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that this unprecedented farmer package, totaling 400 billion rupees, is just the beginning. Through initiatives like the Kisan Card, farmers will enjoy a host of privileges and facilities, ensuring their prosperity and well-being.
