Ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aeen Pakistan rally in Quetta, district administration has closed major roads and streets across the city. Authorities have also suspended mobile and internet services as part of heightened security measures in the city. Officials said that the PTI has denied permission under Section 144, which bans public gatherings across the province for a month. However, despite the restrictions, PTI has insisted on holding the rally.
The road closures have caused serious disruption for citizens, particularly students trying to reach schools and colleges. Many reported being unable to attend classes, while blockades at main roads and intersections have created massive traffic jams, leaving commuters stranded for hours. The administration has alerted security forces to closely monitor the situation and urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel until conditions stabilize. The internet suspension has further affected communication and daily activities in the city.
Despite these measures, PTI leadership has reaffirmed its determination to hold the rally, describing it as a demonstration in support of constitutional supremacy and the restoration of democratic rights. The party stated that administrative restrictions would not deter their plans. As the rally time approaches, authorities continue to maintain a strong security presence, and citizens are advised to follow official instructions and stay updated on developments.
