After a prolonged heatwave, at last there was something for the people of Punjab and Sindh to cheer about as different parts of the provinces received light to moderate rainfall during the last 24 hours. Different parts of Lahore received drizzle late Monday night, while the cool breeze and cloudy weather resulted in a drop in temperatures, ridding the people of extreme heat that had made their lives miserable. The Met Office, on the other hand, predicted rain for the city during the next 24 hours.
It said that the maximum temperature in the city on Tuesday would touch the 36 degrees Celsius mark, while it would remain 29 degrees Celsius on the minimum side. The Met Office predicted that the breeze would blow in the city at the speed of six kilometers per hour, while the level of humidity in the air would be recorded at 65 per cent. The weather will remain extremely hot and dry in Islamabad where the daytime temperature on Tuesday was predicted to go up to 39 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the weather is extremely hot and humid in Karachi as the maximum temperature in the city on Tuesday was expected to be recorded at 38 degrees Celsius. The Met Office said that the suburbs of the port city might receive rain. The increased level of humidity in the air gave the feeling as if the temperature was 45 degrees Celsius.
The level of moisture in the air was recorded at 55 per cent, while the breeze was blowing from the west at the speed of seven kilometers per hour. On the other hand, the weather department said that different areas in Punjab, including the Potohar region, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and northern Balochistan, would receive showers accompanied by strong winds during the next 24 hours.
