Faisalabad received 87 millimeters (mm) rain on Thursday morning which turned hot weather into pleasant.According to rainfall data shared by the Water & Sanitation Agency (Wasa), Ghulam Muhammad Abad area received 87 mm rain while it was recorded 72 mm in Madina Town, 68 mm in Dogar Basti, 55 mm in Allama Iqbal Colony and 47 mm in Gulistan Colony.

The Wasa initiated immediate measures by mobilizing all operational staff for drainage of rainwater.Managing Director Wasa Sohail Qadir Cheema said that the field staff remained on high alert at all points with machinery.He said that de-watering sets were deployed for rainwater drainage and the water removal process would be completed as soon as possible.

The rainwater is being drained out from main roads and central intersections besides streets and residential areas.The MD said free helpline 1334 was fully active and complaints from citizens were being responded promptly. The staff would remain in the field till the complete drainage of rainwater, he added.
