Rainfall, snowfall forecast in several cities Breaking

November 24, 2025

Heavy rain and snowfall are forecast in several cities, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announcing major relief for drought-stricken areas of Balochistan. The met office said that strong westerly winds enter Balochistan between December 6 and 10, after which the first significant and prolonged spell of rain begins. Rains expected to continue throughout the month with intervals.

The PMD said that the spell brings improvement in major drought-hit districts, including Zhob, Sherani, Musakhel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Qilla Saifullah, Chagai, Nushki, Washuk and Mastung. Several areas may receive heavy rain with thunder, while upper regions may receive snowfall.

Experts said that north-western winds remain more active than usual this year, while moisture from the Arabian Sea continues to move towards Balochistan. They were of the view that these conditions create a long spell of rain and contribute to a positive rise in groundwater and dam reservoirs.
