December 10, 2025

Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee in the National Assembly of Pakistan Rana Qasim Noon called on Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on Tuesday, where the two leaders discussed a broad range of issues concerning the region’s social-political, developmental and diplomatic priorities.

"The meeting focused on promoting the Kashmir issue at the international level, reinvigorating parliamentary diplomacy, and exposing Indian atrocities on global platforms", reported by APP AJK correspondent.  Both the leaders reviewed proposals to strengthen the education system in Azad Kashmir and examined measures to make the Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot airports functional through public–private partnership.

They also stressed the need to expedite the feasibility study for the proposed Mirpur Airport. Promotion of tourism in AJK remained another key point of discussion, where both leaders explored options for launching a helicopter service to facilitate tourists' access to various rest houses across the region to boost tourism-driven economic development.

The AJK premier reaffirmed that the ongoing struggle for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination would continue despite all odds.  Qasim Noon assured the PM that the Kashmir Committee would intensify its efforts to project the Kashmiri people’s voice at international forums. He also felicitated Rathore on assuming the office of AJK PM.
