The man, who had raped a minor girl in Phoolnagar before murdering her, committed suicide during the police’s raid on Thursday.FIR was registered at Saddar police station on the complaint of the uncle of four-year-old Noor Fatima, daughter of Naveed Dogar, who lived in Aulakh Bonga area of Phoolnagar, in which it was stated that the girl, who had gone outside to play at 2:00 in the afternoon, did not return home after the passage of several hours.  

Soon, announcements were made from the loudspeakers of the mosques and an operation was launched to trace the minor. At 11:00 at night, Noor’s body was found in an under-construction building, only 200 meters from her home. As soon as he received information, DPO Kasur reached the area and summoned the SP investigation as well as the SHOs of the circle. 

Teams were assigned the task to collect evidence, while the post-mortem report confirmed that the child had been raped before her murder.  Solving the case was a big task for the police, which rounded up 25 suspected individuals from Aulakh Bonga for questioning.  On the basis of an investigation carried out on scientific lines, the police managed to trace the suspect, 19-year-old Wasif. However, during the raid, the suspect, fearing arrest, shot himself dead.
