As just one day is left to the expiry of the deadline set by Saudi Arabia for the making of passports of the welfare staff, who perform duties during Hajj, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has written a letter to the director general (DG) passport in which it has requested that all passport offices should remain open across the country on Saturday and Sunday. In its letter, the ministry has requested the DG to consider the matter extremely important.
They disclosed that the welfare staff were still to get their passports. The ministry has brought it to the knowledge of the DG that passports of these staffers had to be uploaded on an app by December 21. It has also requested that the passports of 268 members of the Hajj Medical Mission be issued immediately because they are related to the armed forces. It is pertinent to mention here that in 2025, over 63,000 Pakistanis could not perform Hajj.
