Federal Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said on Saturday that Pakistan had spearheaded the war on terror and the sacrifices given by the country in the war were for the world’s peace.Speaking to Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the US Embassy in Islamabad Natalie A. Baker, the minister said that the government had introduced a comprehensive policy for the elimination of fake news and the promotion of digitalization. He further said that Pakistan was blessed with natural beauty, cultural diversity and a rich heritage.
Tarar informed the visiting dignitary that the government was taking concrete steps for the promotion of tourism in the country so that it could be introduced in the world as a tourism friendly country. “The promotion of tourism will not only generate employment opportunities in the country but will also improve its relations with other countries,” the minister hoped. He went on to say that legislation was also being done for the welfare of journalists.
Speaking on the occasion, Natalie said that Pakistan’s economy was now on the right track.She also praised Pakistan’s role in the war against terror as well as the steps being taken by the government for the welfare of journalists. Different matters, including those of mutual interest, came under discussion at the meeting.
