Schools reopen in Punjab, Islamabad after extended summer vacation Breaking

September 01, 2025

The party time of school children is over as all the educational institutions in Islamabad and Punjab except those in flood-hit areas reopened. The government and private schools resumed classes after two and a half months of summer vacation. Overall 20 percent low attendance was witnessed on the first day. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore directed that all public and private schools in the city to resume classes on Monday.

However, 45 schools located in areas severely impacted by flooding will remain closed until further notice as they are either damaged or being used as relief camps.Authorities said the measure is aimed at ensuring student safety while also supporting ongoing rescue and relief operations in flood-hit neighborhoods. The affected schools will remain closed until conditions improve.
