Section 144 has been imposed across Balochistan for a period of one month. According to a notification issued by the provincial authorities, gatherings at public places, sit-ins, rallies and protests have been prohibited. The notification also bans covering one’s face and wearing veils at public places. The notification states that Section 144 will remain in force across the province for 30 days. Law enforcement agencies and district administrations have been directed to ensure implementation of the order. Earlier, Section 144 was imposed in the federal capital.

According to the administration, no gathering of any kind is allowed in the city Meanwhile, mobile phone and internet services will remain suspended in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Attock on September 26 and 27 in view of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) possible long march. Sources said mobile phone and internet services would be suspended in the twin cities and parts of Attock as part of security measures. A high-level security meeting held five days ago had discussed the closure of motorways, the GT Road and other key routes, along with measures to maintain law and order and address security concerns.
