January 22, 2026

The district administration of Kohat has imposed Section 144 across the district to prevent illegal occupation and encroachments in and around refugee camps, in accordance with directives issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. Deputy Commissioner Kohat announced strict measures to curb illegal activities on state and provincial properties, particularly within refugee camps, as part of efforts to ensure the orderly repatriation of undocumented residents.

The administration has made it clear that no ownership claims, trespassing, or unauthorized use of land in the camps will be allowed. All Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Additional Assistant Commissioners have been directed to closely monitor their respective areas and refugee camps to ensure full compliance with government orders.

The district administration has warned that any violation of Section 144 will result in immediate legal action, emphasizing that public assets and the rule of law will be strictly enforced. Citizens have also been urged to cooperate with the authorities to ensure that the repatriation process is carried out smoothly, efficiently, and transparently.
