Security arrangements for observance of Muharram reviewed in Kohat Breaking

Superintendent of Police SP Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan reviewed the security arrangements for peaceful observance of Muharram ul Haram during a meeting held in Taxila. The meeting was attended by the SDPO Taxila Circle, SHOs of the Taxila Circle, members of the Peace Committee, representatives of the traders’ association, caretakers of Imambargahs, and procession organisers.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said that all available resources were being utilized to maintain law and order and ensure a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram-ul-Haram. Police official stated that all individuals entering religious gatherings and processions would pass walk-through gates and undergo complete body searches before being allowed to enter. 

All majalis and processions must strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including following designated routes and observing scheduled starting and ending points. Official emphasized that the code of conduct and SOPs issued by the Punjab Home Department for Muharram would be implemented in letter and spirit to maintain peace and public safety. Organisers of majalis and processions assured the administration of their full cooperation and pledged to ensure compliance with all prescribed security measures.
