An officer of Balochistan Constabulary (BC) embraced martyrdom when unidentified armed assailants targeted his vehicle on the National Highway in Mastung District of Balochistan on Friday. The incident took place near Choto area at the National Highway in Mastung. According to a spokesperson for the Balochistan government, the targeted vehicle belonged to an acting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical assistance. “The security forces have been dispatched to the site and a search operation is under way to trace the attackers,” the spokesperson said. Shahid Rind, another provincial official, confirmed that the attack appeared to be a targeted assault on the officer’s vehicle. Authorities have not yet provided details about the motive or identity of the attackers.
