Sheikh Rasheed slams government over ineffective justice systemBreaking

April 23, 2024

The head of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has criticized the government, declaring it a complete failure. He stated that the people are suffering due to a flood of false cases and demanded the withdrawal of all such cases. Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court on Tuesday, Sheikh Rashid expressed his concerns over the mounting number of cases against the public. He said, "Every day, we have to appear in courts due to these fabricated cases. The situation has become so absurd that even individuals who weren't present in Pakistan during certain events are being implicated." The former Interior Minister further added, "Our lawyers have to attend court almost daily because of these false cases. But the government will have to take back all these cases. Many people have been falsely implicated in thousands of cases.

If the government wants to provide relief to the people, it must end these baseless cases. We will fight within the boundaries of law and constitution, and we will win these cases." Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi conducted hearings against Sheikh Rashid Ahmad in three cases related to events on May 9. Sheikh Rashid, accompanied by his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafique, appeared in court where Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan and Sardar Shahbaz Khan acted as their legal representatives. On this occasion, Sheikh Rashid's lawyers filed a plea to dismiss the cases related to May 9. The court issued a notice on the dismissal request, postponing the hearings of all three cases until May 14. The situation highlights growing concerns over the justice system's efficiency and the need for reforms to ensure justice for the people.
