A senior police officer was martyred in indiscriminate firing by a group of dacoits in Shikarpur on Friday.According to police, robbers were looting passenger buses on Sukkur Road National Highway and when police reached the spot, exchange fire started between police and robbers as a result SHO Ghulam Shah Khamisu Brohi martyred.

More than seven robbers set up a blockade on Sukkur Road and looted passenger buses.Robbers opened fire on the police party on the timely arrival as a SHO Lukki, Khamisu Brohi was seriously injured in the firing by robbers. The injured SHO was shifted to a private hospital in Sukkur in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.Meanwhile, another accused surrendered to the police during operation in Obaro. 

According to police spokesperson, accused Haqnwaz Kosh, wanted in serious cases, surrendered to the police.Arrests of accused continue during the ongoing operation in the Kacha area. More than 12 robbers have surrendered to the police in the last 6 days. Joint operation of Sindh Police and Rangers, the network of robbers has been weakened.
