The Sindh government on Friday removed Secretary Local Bodies Dr Waseem Shamshad Ali from his post and directed him to report to the Services and General Services Administration (S&GAD) Department with immediate effect. Mohammad Rafiq Qureshi, who was waiting for his posting, was posted as new Secretary Local Bodies and Town Planning. 

After his removal as provincial minister, former Minister for Labour and Manpower Shahid Abdul Salam Thim recommended the removal of Mohammad Rafiq Qureshi. Sindh Minister for Labour and Manpower Saeed Ghani also sought his removal.

After the recommendation of Sindh Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Mohammad Rafiq Qureshi was assigned charge of Secretary Local Bodies. The Sindh Department of Services and General Administration (SSGAD) also issued a notification in this regard.
