The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Karachi Police has arrested a gang allegedly involved in multiple incidents of street crime and armed robberies across the city, SSP SIU Dr Muhammad Imran Khan said on Tuesday. According to the SIU, the suspects had been looting citizens at gunpoint in various neighbourhoods. During the operation, police recovered three pistols and several snatched mobile phones from their possession.
Investigations revealed that the gang was involved in several robberies and targeted pedestrians, families, factory workers, and office-going citizens. The suspects were reportedly active in both East and West districts, as well as industrial areas. The arrested men have been identified as Waqas, Farooq, and Sher Alam. Police are also working to obtain details of their previous criminal records. A case has been registered against the suspects at the SIU, and further investigation is underway.
