Six permanent judges of Peshawar High Court (PHC) took oath of their office on Monday. There judges were Justices Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Abdul Fayaz, Salahuddin, Sadiq Ali, Syed Mudasser Ameer and Qazi Jawad Ehsanullah. PHC Chief Justice SM Attiq administered oath to the newly-confirmed judges at a ceremony in Peshawar.
A few days ago President Zardari approved appointment of these PHC judges. He also approved a six-month extension in the tenure of Justices Farah Jamshed, Inamullah Khan, Sabitullah Khan and Aurangzeb as PHC’s additional judges.“The approvals have been made on the advice of the prime minister,” the statement added.
