Skilled Pakistani work force, key to penetrate in the international markets: Chaudhry Salik Hussainتازترین

Pakistan is keen to export smartly trained and experienced workforce in the global markets to meet the economic goals, Stated, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain while addressing the meeting with Luc Triangle, Secretary-General of the International Trade Union Confederation.  The meeting was attended by Regional Secretary-General of ITUC Shoya Yoshida, Director of the ILO Country Office in Pakistan Geir Thomas Tanstol.  

Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Aoun Chaudhry, Secretary of Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Arshad Mahmood, and officials from the ministry, joined the meeting. Addressing the occassin, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain appreciated the International Trade Union Confederation's global efforts for labor rights. He said, “To meet the global market needs at both National and international echelons, National Vocational Technical Training Commission at the federal level, and Vocational Training Institutes at the provincial level are playing a vital role.

They are conducting several cutting the edge training programs to meet the market needs. To benefit Pakistani workforce at all levels, the government is also expanding the scope of Employee Old Age Benefits and the Worker Welfare Fund”.  Many initiatives have been designed to skill the youth for the provision of technical education particularly those who are interested to go abroad.

With the efforts of our treasured workforce in the international markets, Pakistan received over US$4 billion in remittances. This year, a record remittance of $38 billion from overseas Pakistanis is also expected, added the federal minister. Secretary-General Luc Triangle of the International Trade Union Confederation valued the initiatives taken by the current Pakistani government to prepare a smart and competent workforce.

He mentioned that Pakistan has a labor force of 70 million, from which the economic situation can be significantly improved. He also extended an invitation to Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain to participate in the upcoming International Labor Conference. Secretary Dr. Arshad Mahmood briefed on the ministry's performance and priorities regarding labor improvement through the Overseas Pakistanis Ministry and its subordinate institutions.
