Summer Camp held at Consulate General of Türkiye with AIOU-collaborationBreaking

Yunus Emre Institute Pakistan, under the patronage of Cemal Sangu, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Karachi, organized a Two Weeks Summer Camp for children in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). A special certificate ceremony was held at the Consulate General, Karachi on 11 July 2025 to honor the children who participated in the program. The event commenced with welcome remarks from Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Coordinator of Yunus Emre Institute Pakistan.

During his speech Dr. Toker expressed his sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Rector of AIOU; Dr. Zahid Majeed; Mr Zulfiqar Ali Zardari and Mr. Rajesh Kumar, AIOU Karachi Regional Coordinator, for their valuable contributions to the program. He highlighted the significance of Turkish-Pakistani friendship and emphasized how such initiatives strengthen the brotherhood between the two nations. In his address, Mr. Rajesh Kumar spoke about the mission of Allama Iqbal Open University and underlined the importance of such cultural and educational activities in enhancing bilateral relations.

He extended his heartfelt thanks to Consul General Sangu and Prof. Dr. Toker for their efforts in making the program a success. During his speech, Consul General Cemal Sangu emphasized the centuries-old historical and cultural ties between Türkiye and the region, stating that the two countries are "like one soul in two separate bodies." He underlined the deep-rooted presence of Turks in the region and the shared cultural heritage that unites the people of Türkiye and Pakistan.

The ceremony continued with Turkish poetry recitations by the Summer Camp children, showcasing their language skills and cultural enthusiasm. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to all the children who successfully completed the camp. This initiative marks yet another step in fostering cultural understanding and friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan through the engagement of younger generations.
