A telephone exchange building was blown up with explosives by terrorists in the Shah Tora Takhtikhel area of Sarai Naurang police station limits in Lakki Marwat, police said on Friday. The powerful explosion completely destroyed the building, leaving behind debris and damaged communication equipment. According to officials, armed men stormed the exchange late Thursday night, taking the watchman hostage before planting explosives inside the facility.

Police said the attackers entered the building under cover of darkness and overpowered the watchman on duty. After securing the premises, they placed explosives inside the exchange and detonated them, causing the entire structure to collapse. Following the explosion, the militants released the watchman but took away his weapon before escaping from the scene.

As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy contingent of police reached the site and cordoned off the entire area. Security forces launched a search operation to trace the culprits responsible for the attack.
