At least three people, including two women, were killed and 10 others injured in a firing incident during a funeral ceremony in Ghundi Chechnah area of the district on Friday. The tragic incident took place when the attackers opened fire on mourners attending the funeral of a woman, allegedly over old enmity.

The police said the attackers targeted the residence of a man namely Miran Badshah, where the funeral was being held. They added that the injured included seven women and several passersby who were caught in the crossfire. After the incident, Rescue 1122 teams and a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and shifted the deceased and injured to a nearby hospital.
