Transparency International (TI) has written a letter to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah in which it has pointed out that the kit for the Rs15 billion solar project was purchased at a price higher than the market rate, says in media reports. The TI has also said that the kit was purchased without the approval of the provincial cabinet.

The Sindh cabinet, the TI has said, had approved awarding the contract to the NRTC. “But practically, the contract was awarded to other companies as well,” read the letter. It has said that in view of the facts stated above, the chief minister is requested to order an investigation into the scam.
