Two policemen embraced martyrdom during a heavy exchange of firing with terrorists in Kohat early Friday. The gunbattle took place in Nadir Banda area of Kohat. One of the policemen was identified as Sub Inspector Tahir Nawaz, and another was a police constable. The intense shootout was still underway and a heavy contingent of police was called in after the incident. Earlier on Thursday, two policemen were injured in a firing incident in Kohat.

A policeman was referred to Peshawar due to his critical condition, a police spokesman said. According to details, an unidentified person opened fire on the policemen between Shakardara and Nashpa areas. The policemen, named as Muhammad Irfan and Khalid Khan, were injured in the incident, he added. Both the injured were shifted to KDA Hospital, he said, adding Muhammad Irfan was referred to Peshawar later.
