Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the upcoming budget would be people-friendly, with special emphasis on improving health care services for the general people.  The prime minister said this while chairing a high level meeting of Public Health, education and Planning and Development Departments in the State metropolis. The meeting was specially convened to finalize the budget proposals.

"Funds are being allocated in the budget for the improvement of infrastructure and provision of travel facilities to the public", the AJK PM said.  He said that the budget for the purchase of medicines and machinery in all hospitals would be doubled to ensure better treatment facilities. He said that the government was cognisant of the problems being faced by the people.

"Steps are being taken to provide maximum relief to the common people", he added. Earlier, the prime minister received a detailed briefing on the budget proposals from the secretaries of the concerned departments.
