February 16, 2026

The Meteorological Department has forecast hot and dry weather during the first 10 days of Ramazan, with no significant chances of rain across most parts of the country. The Meteorological Department Deputy Director Irfan Virk said fasting days are expected to remain largely dry at the beginning of the holy month. According to Virk, there is no apparent possibility of rainfall during the first 10 days of Ramazan.

Temperatures in Lahore and Islamabad are expected to remain below 30°C initially, while Sindh and southern Punjab may witness higher mercury levels. In these southern regions, temperatures are likely to rise to around 35°C, making fasting conditions comparatively warmer than in central and northern cities. Meanwhile, Deputy Director Anjum Nazir said a new series of westerly winds is expected to enter the country tonight.

Under the influence of these westerly winds, light rain is likely in Karachi. However, officials clarified that the expected rainfall will not make a significant difference in overall weather conditions. Nazir noted that weather in Karachi is expected to remain moderate during the first 20 days of Ramazan. Temperatures in the city are likely to range between 32°C and 34°C during this period.

Despite the possibility of light showers, no major weather system is expected to bring widespread relief from heat. Looking ahead, the Met Department has warned that the last 10 days of Ramazan are expected to be hotter than usual. Authorities have advised citizens to take necessary precautions, especially during fasting hours, as temperatures are likely to rise further toward the end of the holy month.
