A feasibility report of state-of-the-art Yellow Line Train Transit Project is almost finalized while the project is all set to start in September 2025 in Lahore. Sources said that Automated Rapid Transport (ART) system will be started during current year while this project will be completed in June 2026. Yellow Line Train project Transit Project will be expanded on 24 kilometers while its estimated cost will be Rs60 billion to Rs80 billion.
Yellow Line Project will start from Jinnah Bus Terminal and will conclude on Harbanspura in June 2026. The train will run between both sides of Canal Road. Around 18 modern smart stations will be established and 1,30,000 passengers will benefit from this facility. The project will be included in next year’s development projects. Yellow Line project will start in September 2025.
An autonomous rail system will be operational without any driver but the train will be operated by drivers in Lahore. A set of 30 trains will be imported from China. These electric trains are also operational in China and United Arab Emirates. It is necessary to mention here that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz already granted approval to this project while Punjab cabinet’s nod in this regard is still pending. After Punjab cabinet this project will be forwarded to ECNEC for approval.
