Former West Indies cricket star Brian Lara paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley at Whitehall. The West Indies cricket legend presented a copy of his book, "Lara: The England Chronicles," to Dr Rowley. Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis was also present for the meeting. Lara launched the new book at his residence in Port of Spain on 17 September. The books, which was released on 2 July, was published by Fairfield Books. It presents Lara's view of his time with the West Indies and his time with Warwickshire in the County Championship. Lara broke the world record for the highest individual Test score in 1994 against England at Antigua and retook the record at the same venue against the same opposition in 2004.
He also scored 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham in 1994. The original version of the book contained controversial stories about Lara's relationship with fellow West Indies legend, Sir Vivian Richards and former captain Carl Hooper. The controversial parts of the book were removed from the version released in Trinidad this week.
